Traditional Design

The traditional design style is one of the most well-known and easily recognized interior decor options. The traditional style uses tables and chairs made from dark wood that is ornately detailed which draw inspiration from 18th & 19th Century England and France. This is why it’s common to find expensive textiles like silk, velvet, and linen used throughout. Fabrics feature a variety of different patterns, including damask, florals, stripes, and plaids. Traditional homes also tend to like to bring in a "glam element" with crystal chandeliers. Older European décor heavily influences traditional interiors. A key feature of the traditional style is the neutral color palette with pops brought in with oil paintings or floral arrangements. And, because consistency is key, it is common to find matching furniture sets.
